Dedicated Portfolio of RF Components Addresses Emerging Needs of In-Building Wireless Public Safety Networks

Microlab, a Wireless Telecom Group Company, today launched a new portfolio of products dedicated to critical communications and in-building public safety wireless networks. The new portfolio will directly address the growing market needs and requirements for high-quality, reliable, in-building wireless connectivity for public safety networks used by emergency services personnel. The new portfolio of RF components are specifically designed and optimized for critical communications in the 80 MHz to 960 MHz frequency range, covering all public safety bands, and consists of splitters, couplers and duplexers, amongst other new product initiatives.

Emergency services personnel need to have reliable and modern mobile communication capabilities inside buildings and many local governments have begun passing new regulations for in-building public safety network coverage, reliability and monitoring.  Additionally, it is critical for commercial and consumer devices to have reliable network connectivity and capacity to initiate emergency calls.  Microlab products and components have long provided the quality and performance from 600 MHz to 6 GHz that wireless carriers have come to rely on for in-building coverage and capacity, and that performance and reliability is now available in products dedicated to supporting critical public safety communications.

“The public needs to be able to notify authorities of an event, and public safety personnel need to communicate during an event, both require in-building connectivity but have different requirements,” said Luke Getto, Microlab Director of Product Management.  “For over 30 years, Microlab has provided the highest performance network components to the most demanding commercial wireless carriers. We are excited to apply our technology and expertise to a new, dedicated set of products that support UHF and VHF equipment, as well as TETRA, FirstNet, and the UK Emergency Services Network for critical public safety communications.”

Microlab product specialists will be attending the APCO public safety communications event August 5th – 8th in Las Vegas and will be available to speak in further detail about the new product offerings.
